A free alternative to Paper Animator
Paper Animator is a good tool, and it does more than ours do. If you mostly need a paper cut-out or a text match cut without a watermark, our free tools may be all you need. Here is the difference, plainly.
| Feature | KeyHole tools | Paper Animator |
|---|---|---|
| Price | Free. No credits, no plan. | Free previews with a watermark. Clean exports use credits or Pro (about $3.49 a month on sale). |
| Watermark | None. | On free videos. |
| What you give | An email and two short questions at your first download. | An account for the free credit; a card only if you buy. |
| Where it runs | On your device. Your files stay on it. | In your browser, with export servers on Pro. Their pages don’t say which steps use a server. |
| Best resolution | Up to 4K, if your device can render it. | 720p, or Full HD with Pro. |
| Transparent export | PNG sequence on every tool. | Transparent PNG, and ProRes 4444 on some Pro templates. |
| Paper cut-out from a photo | Yes: Scrap. Torn, cut and sticker edges, folds and drops. Video input too. | Yes: edge styles, fold-out, green screen and magazine letters. |
| Text match cut | Yes: Verbatim. 14 page designs, your own text or clips. | Yes: Classic and Press editions, with some styles on Pro. |
| Other effects | Eight tools in all, including a country map, a flight route, a magnifying glass, a comment match cut, a point cloud and halftone. | About 20 Motion Lab templates, including many we don’t have, such as Word Sphere and Receipt Printer. |
Paper Animator details come from its public pages, read on 5 November 2026, and may have changed. KeyHole isn’t affiliated with Paper Animator. The name belongs to its owners.
