Questions

Is it free? Do I need an account?

It’s free, with no watermark and no account. The first time you download, we ask for your email and two quick questions, once per browser. You can unsubscribe at any time.

What is a text match cut?

An edit where one word stays in exactly the same spot while everything around it changes fast. Press the play button and the word seems to hold still as pages fly past.

Where do the pages come from?

Fourteen page designs drawn by this tool: a news wire, a broadsheet, a tabloid, a journal, a magazine and more, in English and Russian. Every publication, person and story on them is invented. Paste your own text to use that instead. Nothing is generated on a server, so there’s no cost and no waiting.

Can real pictures or clips flip behind the word?

Yes. Add images or clips and choose My files. Each page shows the next file, with your word locked on top.

Does it work in other languages?

Cyrillic and Latin are fully set. Other scripts use your device’s fonts, and our sample sentences appear in English around them, so pasting your own text gives the best result.

Can I export with a transparent background?

Yes. Choose Transparent for a ZIP of PNG frames with alpha, the words without the paper, which After Effects imports as a sequence.

Can I use the result commercially?

Yes. What you make with Verbatim is yours, as long as you have the rights to any text or files you add.

Which browsers work?

Current Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox, on computers and phones. Verbatim needs WebGL 2.
