Questions

What is a comment match cut?

An edit where one word stays in exactly the same spot while the comment around it keeps changing. The eye locks on the word, so the cuts read as speed rather than chaos.

Whose comments and avatars are these?

Only yours. Thread doesn’t read any platform and has no real people’s data. Sample names are invented, and avatars are initials unless you add your own pictures. Please only use names and pictures you have the right to use.

Does it look like a specific social network?

No. It’s a neutral comment layout of our own, with no platform logos.

How do I write my own comments?

One per line, as Name: comment. If a line doesn’t contain your word, Thread works it in. A line without a name gets an invented one.

Can I export with a transparent background?

Yes. Choose PNG sequence for the comments and word without the background.

Is there a watermark?

No. The first download asks for your email and two quick questions, once across all our tools.

Can I use the result commercially?

Yes, as long as you have the rights to the text and pictures you add.

Which browsers work?

Current Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox, on computers and phones.
